Waste or Cleanup? Which would you choose?

February 26, 2010

We all know that the economy is not a very ideal place for the consumer all the way up to the manufacturer these days.  So, everyone that I know as well as everyone that you know are probably trying to find ways to cut back on costs.  In recent years our economy has been a throw away society.  By this, I mean that we buy something and if it gets a tear, a stain, anything, we throw it away.  This is not the case anymore.  We all must find ways to cut back on costs.

The example I personally have is with the carpet in my home.  I had friends over for a small party and a couple of them got out of control and spilled some red wine on my carpet.  Of course, I did not find the spills until the next morning.  So, luckily I have a product called Odor-Z-Way that I use to get almost any stain out of my carpet as well as odors.  I dampened the stain, put the Odor-Z-Way over the stain, and rubbed the Odor-Z-Way into the stain with my foot.  I then let the stain dry and vacuumed up the area as the directions said to do.  Guess what?  The stain was completely gone.  My point to this entire story is that I could have easily said that I didn’t want to mess with it and called the carpet cleaner up to come clean my carpets, or, if my pockets were deep enough, I could have ripped my carpet completely up and replaced it.  Either way I was going to spend way more money that what I did to clean one spot.  I think I spent $10.00, put minimal effort into cleaning the spot, and saved my carpet and money.  I have found many other uses that this product has saved me money on as well, but this was my most expensive savings story that I could possibly have had.

This is why I ask the question waste or cleanup?  Would you rather spend $10.00 to save your carpet, clothing, etc., or spend $50, $100, $1,000, $5,000 to replace your carpet, shirt, etc.  I leave it to you to decide what you would do.

Extinguish Gasoline Fire!!

February 26, 2010

I recently was playing around with the Auto Odor-Z-Way and found out that this product would put out gas fires!  It is the craziest thing ever.  I had a little gas spill on our shop floor when I was doing some work on our buggy.  A buddy of mine decided that he wanted to have a cigarette and used a match to light his cigarette with.  He then threw the match, that was still on fire, on the ground right into a small puddle of gas.   Of course, the gas started on fire.  So out of instinct, I grabbed the Odor-Z-Way that was sitting next to us on the bench.  I always leave the Auto Odor-Z-Way on my bench so I can absorb oil off of my floor, like a floor dry would.  Anyway, I sprinkled the Odor-Z-Way over the fire.  Amazingly, the product put the fire out with no problem.  I thought this was kind of weird, so I tried doing this in a controlled experiment.  It worked again!  While the Odor-Z-Way was still on the gas spill, I tried to light the spot back on fire again.  It would only spark a little for a second but would not light back up.  I came to the conclusion that the Odor-Z-Way absorbed the gas vapors not allowing the gasoline to start back on fire.  I will definately keep this in mind to use Odor-Z-Way the next time I am around a gas fire.

How Odor-Z-Way (man-made zeolite) was started

February 26, 2010

Odor-Z-Way was actually created from the water conditioning industry.  After figuring out a variety of uses in water conditioning it was found that a larger size of the same crystal could be used as a superior odor and stain removal product.  I have listed the short story below about how Odor-Z-Way was origionally invented in the water conditioning industry.

In 1925 Emmett Culligan, with help from Fred Lindsay, formulated the process to produce synthetic zeolites. Together, they started the Northwestern Chemical Company. Fred’s brother, Lynn Lindsay, was one of the company’s salesmen, who later started the successful water softener company bearing his name.

In the late 30s and early 40s, there were two zeolite plants: one in San Bernardino, CA, and the other in Yuma AR. By the late 40s, the company had produced a high-capacity zeolite with capacity of 20K grains – doubling capacity of domestic water softeners.

The Changing Marketplace

That accomplishment was soon overshadowed by the development of synthetic – or plastic – resins in the early 50’s providing even higher capacities of 30K grains per cu ft. With increased competition from plastic resin manufacturers, Culligan closed the Yuma zeolite plant.

Zeolites are first cured outdoors in large beds before refining and processing. Here, the mild weather and prevalent sunshine of the Kansas City region provides ideal conditions.

The remaining zeolite facility in San Bernardino was later purchased in 1985 by Glenn Gruett, the owner and founder of Water-Right, Inc., a water softener manufacturing firm based in Appleton, Wisconsin. Water-Right had previously used Culligan’s zeolites extensively and successfully in a majority of the softeners they manufactured. They were also one of the largest customers of zeolite at the time.

With the purchase of all rights, equipment and technology, Gruett moved the entire operation to Phillipsburg, Kansas, under the corporate name of Mineral-Right, Inc. This operation became the first modern synthetic zeolite plant in the country. Through carefully controlled manufacturing, zeolites are now produced in several different grades, each possessing different water conditioning characteristics.

The Northwestern Chemical Company closed during the Great Depression. Emmett Culligan pushed onward, starting the Culligan Zeolite Company in 1936 in Northbrook, Illinois. The zeolites manufactured through his operation had a capacity of 10,000 grains per cu ft – two times better than processed greensand. This accomplishment essentially created the modern water softening industry we have today.

How to Remove Cat Urine From Carpet

February 25, 2010

Today I am going to talk about how to remove cat urine from carpet.  This is a problem that many people are constantly facing.  I hear this problem all the time, that a cat will not stop urinating in a specific area of a home or someone cannot get a urine stain out of their carpet.  Well, I want to explain two different ways to take care of this problem.

Problem 1: You have a fresh urine stain in your carpet.

To remove a fresh urine stain in your carpet takes a couple of quick easy steps.  The first thing you want to do is dab up the urine with a cloth.  You do not have to try and get it all.  The main purpose is just to get rid of some of the moisture so you do not have to use so much Odor-Z-Way.  The second step is to sprinkle the Odor-Z-Way over the urine.  You want to sprinkle enough Odor-Z-Way to where the spot is covered.  Now, take your foot and rub the Odor-Z-Way into the urine spot.  Let the area completely dry and vacuum the spot up.  Your stain is now completely gone.  You have also removed the odor that was deep down in the carpet.

Problem 2: You have a urine stain that is dried and old.

To get rid of an old urine stain in your carpet is very similar to removing a fresh stain.  The difference is that you want to dampen the urine stain with a little water first.  Now, sprinkle the Odor-Z-Way over the urine.  You want to sprinkle enough Odor-Z-Way to where the spot is covered.  Next, take your foot and rub the Odor-Z-Way into the urine spot.  Let the area completely dry and vacuum the spot up.  Your stain is now completely gone.  You have also removed the odor that was deep down in the carpet.

This is the easiest way to remove a urine stain.  I have never found another product that was this easy to use and would not harm your carpet in any way.

Odors and Stains are Always a Problem!!

February 23, 2010

Do you have an odor in your house that you just cannot get rid of?  Did your cat/dog pee on the carpet and now there is a urine stain you cannot get out?  Did someone smoke in your vehicle and you cannot get the smoke smell out?  These are all problems that many people face on a daily basis.  There are many odors and stains that an individual will come across in their lifetime that are very bothersome to them.  I want to share a solution to these problems with you.

The solution to odor and stain problems is a product called Odor-Z-Way.  Odor-Z-Way has the capability to remove almost any odor and stains that are fresh or stains that are old (20+ years).

Now, I realize that everyone claims their product is the best or their product will do this or that, when in all reality, these products really do not do what they say they are going to do.  This truly is not the case with Odor-Z-Way.  Odor-Z-Way completely removes gases and liquids (odors and stains) out of carpet, clothing, cement, skin, glass, etc.

The way Odor-Z-Way works is through its thousands of tiny tunnels.  Think of a sponge.  A sponge absorbs a lot of a substaces just like Odor-Z-Way does.  The only difference is that Odor-Z-Way does not release what it has absorbed back out.  So when you throw the used product away, the odor or stain goes with the Odor-Z-Way.  For example, lets say you spilled red wine on your brand new white carpet and you are taking care of the problem right away.  You can sprinkle Odor-Z-Way over the affected area and watch the crystal expand like a sponge would as well as turn colors to a red color from the wine.  This shows how the crystal absorbs.  At the same time, the product is absorbing the wine’s pigment along with absorbing the odor from the wine.  So, you are actually taking care of two problems at one time.  Its truly amazing!

There are literally hundreds and thousands of other uses and examples that we can talk about.  I invite you to read more of the blogs on more specific uses of how Odor-Z-Way works, why Odor-Z-Way is a superior product, and watch the real life videos of the product in action.  You will be amazed at what you learn!  Please feel free to give me feedback and share your experiences with this unique product.
